There are three statuses, and one rule decides them: how many of the fields expected of that report have a value. The Complete button is not counted.
- Completed — every expected field has a value (including 0).
- In Progress — two or more fields filled, but not all of them.
- Not Started — one field or none.
Clicking Complete in DHIS2 plays no part in any of this — completion is decided by the fields alone. Hover any cell to see both figures: fields entered across every site under it, and how many of those sites are themselves fully complete.
Completion Rate counts only Completed reports; In Progress does not count toward it. Click a status in the legend to filter. Some fields are not expected of every site — questions answered only at the woreda office or only at facilities, excused by an earlier answer, not applicable to Primary Hospitals, or added to a form part-way — and those leave that report's total rather than counting as missing. The Remarks tab lists every such rule.
Monthly: Jun 2025, Jun 2026, Jul 2026. Quarterly: Q2 2025 and Q2 2026. Annual: Jul 2024–25 and Jul 2025–26. Refresh only updates the snapshot when DHIS2 responds successfully; on failure the previous data is kept.
Each check looks at one report — one site, one period — and compares two related values, or one value with its allowed range.
- Flagged — the values break the rule: a possible error for the data entry officer to review. It names both values, since either may be the wrong one.
- Passed — the values keep the rule.
- Not checked — a value the check needs has not been entered (see Completeness).
Pass rate = passed ÷ checked; reports not checked are left out of it. A field that is not expected of a site (see Remarks) is never checked, and no finding changes completion status. Monthly and quarterly values are compared with the Denominators of the same financial year (Jun 2025 and Q2 2025 belong to Jul 2024 – Jun 2025). Findings are worked out from the same snapshot as the completeness figures; the Remarks tab lists every check.
Indicators (the switch at the top) are worked out from the same values, the way DHIS2 computes them, at the lowest level they exist: the facility, or the woreda when a field is only entered there. Each is checked for a usable denominator, a percentage within 0–100, and outliers: a value far from the other facilities or woredas in the same period (modified z-score above 3.5). A count or amount is flagged when it is far either way; a percentage when it is far below or above 100%, since a high score up to 100% is usually real. Completeness is tracked on data elements only.
